Miata Miata goes all Zoom Zoom with new racing variant

If you're like me, you are very aware of the great delight the car world has taken in Mazda's recent unveiling of the next generation Miata. Smaller, lighter, and more powerful than its predecessor, this super sporty coupe from the official gear head "To Own" list has gained national attention and continues to take the idea of putting the words "affordable". "fun" and "sports" and "car" in the same sentence to new levels of greatness. Now, they have revealed the Miata's racing spec cousin; and although this comes to us as no surprise, we don't really know much about it at this point, other than what we can assume, which is that a drive in this might just very well triumph the ride in even the most expensive supercars money can buy in terms of the "smile" factor.

Mazda revealed the car at SEMA 2014, and though they were scant on the details, they did say that the current MX-5 Cup Car would see one more season of racing before this new Miata takes the track for 2016. They've also been hard at work coordinating the best settings that will give the car quicker lap times and ensure proper communication with the road. Check out the photos below and make sure your drool doesn't get on the keyboard:
