This Site Shows how the World's Iconic Supercars Looked Before They Were Built

For Gearheads everywhere, at some point, we've wondered where the inspiration came from for some of the best looking concept cars that we see at the world's auto shows. When designers dream up the lines and language that make up any car's composition, it usually never looks as it does on the road. In many cases the sketches can be drawn with somewhat slightly exaggerated lines, usually in an effort to bring out its personality better, and original ideas may not even look anything like what we would ever see period. You'll probably never see the early ideas of the Porsche 918 scribbles on the napkin the designer might have had at the bar after work one day, but we can certainly get some insight into what the early visions of some of the world's most iconic supercars looked like when the only physical existence of them was two-dimensional; and we can see most of them on a website that is exclusively dedicated to automotive design.

It's called "All The Sketches", and its sort of like discovering the prototypes before the prototypes. As a functional purpose, this website is normally reserved for designers and design students. They come here to find inspiration by using these sketches  as a basis to compile their own ideas as they put pencil to paper.

From Alpha Romeo to Ferraris and Fords, you'll get a glimpse at some of the earliest illustrations of the cars you see on the road today. The evolution from concept to production goes through many changes before we get to the finished product, and this site shows just what these cars looked like before they crossed the desk of the Director.

From the Original sketches of the early GTR to the muscular lines of the new Mustang, this website contains the early sketches and illustrations of some of the world's most notable cars from just about every brand you could think of. Scroll down and behold the illustrated greatness:
