Camaro Prototype Takes a Wall at the Nurburgring

There's an age-old saying that muscle cars are normally only good for straight - line speed, and not much else. And though the Camaro test mule seen in the video below looks poised and confident for a while as it went round das Nurburgring in Germany, sometimes, that typical muscle car handling that made this phrase common place can show through the cracks.

While General Motors had its test mule Camaro out on the track, it seemed that things were going well. Its first stint went off seemingly without a hitch, as the muscle car took each corner with confidence, (or maybe it was at half-speed, I can't tell which), kissing each apex in true professional driver form. But things got a little slidey during the second run, and luckily, a spy was there to capture the moment it happened.

Of course, they had to cover the car up, and have it towed out on a covered flatbed, but it was too late by then, obviously.

Of course, we can't just assume that the next generation Camaro will be a fluke - this is all part of the development process. I'm sure that the driver and the techs that had this car out will re-assess that fateful mistake and get back on the track in no time. Until then, watch it all happen below.
